The game was published in Japan in 2015, thirty years after the release of Falcom’s PC title Xanadu, and was named as such as a tribute. The game does pick up when you put certain time in it. The first thing to address about Tokyo Xanadu is the title. Side Stories and NPCs are where Falcom put their effort. The game really started to appear it's charm in later part of the game. It trails Persona 5 and The Caligula Effect, when its 2015 Japanese release date puts it more in the ballpark of Conception 2 or Mind:Zero. The graphic is nice for Vita and they put details things, although fps drop if you facing with the large group of enemies or some flame effects are in motion but acceptable. They are a charming orthodox group who demonstrate full-blown singing ability and cute dances, and have of course attracted attention in the music scene. Falcom should make another game like this. Tokyo Xanadu eX+ is kind of a mix between Falcoms Trails and Ys series for worldbuilding and combat, and Atlus Persona for school/social simulation. The large questions left at the end regarding the nature of the Eclipse may also disappoint some, but Tokyo Xanadu eX+ succeeds at providing an engaging story. The game story jumps you straight in into what the game is about, events folds one after another giving you lots of time to be able enjoy the progress of the story, altho how events happens felt really obvious because it's quite repetitive, but it'd didn't kill ant of mt enjoyment of the game. Translation feels a bit off at some few places, it could had used more work over all. Personally for me this is the best vita game of 2017 so far.
